Your Aadhaar card is one of the most important documents you own. Paper printouts fade, tear, and get damaged. A PVC card version is durable, pocket-sized, and universally accepted.
What is a PVC Aadhaar card?
A PVC (polyvinyl chloride) Aadhaar card is a plastic version of your E-Aadhaar. It's the same size as a credit card, waterproof, and lasts 5–10 years of regular use.
Is it legally valid?
Yes. The Government of India's UIDAI has clarified that E-Aadhaar printed on PVC cards by third-party services is valid for most purposes — as long as the underlying E-Aadhaar is authentic.
**Important**: This is NOT the same as the official UIDAI-issued "Aadhaar Smart Card" (which is a different product). This is your E-Aadhaar PDF printed on PVC.

Common questions
**Can I print my own PVC card?** Technically yes, but home printers can't produce card-grade PVC. Professional printing is cheaper and better.
**Is a colored print acceptable?** Yes, and recommended — it matches the original Aadhaar format.
**Can I order for a family member?** Yes, you can order multiple cards in one order. Each requires its own E-Aadhaar PDF.
**What if my E-Aadhaar has an old address?** Update your address with UIDAI first, download the new E-Aadhaar, then order.
The security debate
Some privacy advocates argue against printing PVC Aadhaar cards because they're easier to lose (like any card). The counter-argument: paper Aadhaar is even easier to damage, and you can always revoke via UIDAI if lost.
**Our stance**: Print one for convenience, keep the digital copy in a secure folder, and never share photos of either.
